Born and raised in Orange County, CA, Dr. Young had his heart set on the pursuit of dentistry since grade school. With a dad as a mechanical engineer developing cardiovascular products, mom as a laboratory chemist and big brother already a dentist, Dr. Young felt at home in the world of science and medicine. He studied at the University of California, Los Angeles where he majored in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics and was involved in Orthodontic research at UCLA's dental school. He went on to receive his Dental degree from New York University, College of Dentistry.
In his younger days, Dr. Young traveled annually to Central and South America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East - just about anywhere he could manage. Though his carefree travel days are a thing of the past, he is now happily married and his three young children keep life busy and interesting. When he isn't in the office going the extra mile for patients or at home hanging out with his family, Dr. Young steals away to surf, bike, skate (skateboards, not roller skates. So he says...) and hit the gym to battle the bulge (as his wife has assured him chasing after the children is not sufficient cardiovascular exercise).
